Once upon a time, staffs were imbued with purpose. In many mythological and spiritually focused traditions, they symbolized authority, wisdom, power. Often they were earned. Often they were wielded by men of virtue, leaders and guides. For grounded masculinity does not value or require dominance or unnecessary aggression, but rather nurturing and protection. Rooted in his purpose, he guides, he inspires, he protects.
When balanced firmly, a force that channels divine direction. Steadfast. When out of alignment, a force that creates harm. The staff is more than a physical object, it represents the embodiment of a higher calling. It beckons one responsible enough to use his gifts for the greater good. The Oak tree provides a home to many.
Stable, enduring, trusting.
A man driven by his primal instincts invites chaos into his life, he remains in his shadow. This is a path of recklessness. He is unstable. So is his power. His vital force, unsustainable.
A man driven by the wisdom of his heart, the soul's gateway, invites God's powers to flow through him. His visions pure, his shadow in it's proper place, his path will become clear. He is supported.
Brothers, stay the path.
